BIG SKY COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN
ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM LOCAL HUMAN SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS
Starting Feb. 28, United Way of Cascade County will begin accepting applications from human health and welfare organizations wanting to participate in the fall 2013 Great Falls Area Combined Federal Campaign.
The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized charitable fundraising campaign for federal employees. It began in 1961 as a result of an executive order signed by President John F. Kennedy. In 2012, federal employees in the Big Sky CFC donated roughly $224,000 to local, national and international nonprofits.
Each fall, federal employees are given a form with a list of nonprofits that they can choose from to designate charitable donations given through their workplace. To be included on the list, nonprofits need to apply and meet eligibility requirements each year.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013. All applicants must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under 26 U.S.C. 501 (c) 3. Applications may be mailed to Big Sky Combined Federal Campaign, c/o United Way of Cascade County, P.O. Box 1343, Great Falls, MT 59403
To get an application call United Way at 727-3400, or go online to uwccmt.org and click on the Federal Employees link within the campaign tab. For more information call the United Way office at 727-3400 or email Combined Federal Campaign Director Lewis Card at firstname.lastname@example.org.
