Financial Stability Partnership
Addressing a Critical Community Issue
NEW Financial Stability Resource Inventory
United Way seeks to strengthen our community by identifying and tackling the underlying causes of the most serious social issues facing our residents.
Low-to-moderate-income households in Yellowstone County find it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. In Billings, the cost of housing has roughly doubled since 1997. Over the past 20 years, the cost of living nation-wide has increased by almost 90 percent due, in large part, to significant increases in the costs of housing, healthcare, transportation, insurance, and utilities.
United Way of Yellowstone County brings together cross-sector partners in a Financial Stability Partnership to help local people achieve financial independence. The Partnership works to strengthen current efforts in the community and to build new strategic alliances. The goal of the Partnership is to create a comprehensive infrastructure of services and policies that lead to financial stability.
Our partners in, and supporters of, this work include:
American Society of Women Accountants | Montana Job Service |
Avanta Federal Credit Union | Montana Legal Services |

District 7 Human Resource Development Council | Native American Development Corporation |
Family Services, Inc. | Rocky Mountain College |

The Financial Stability Partnership organizes its work using a three-step model developed by
United Way of America.
