DAY OF CARING

SAVE THE DATE Day of Caring - SEPT. 16, 2010

There really is a way to make our community a better place to live.
It begins when you make a choice.
To reach out. To lend a hand. To open your heart.

United Way of Yellowstone County Day of Caring is held every year and serves as the annual kickoff for Campaign. This event is full of opportunities for individuals and companies in our community to give the gift of time. The spirit of generosity and community endures through out the year even though this event only last one half day.

The object of the Day of Caring is to involve employees in first-hand experience with local charities, to raise awareness of community needs and services, as well as to better understand the impact of their donated dollars. In addition, these activities afford employees a great opportunity to know each other outside of the workplace.

Activities range from meal delivery, bowling, taking senior and children to the zoo, mentoring, painting, landscaping, winterizing senior homes to countless other essential activities that help make our community stronger, healthier and a more caring place to live and work.

Day of Caring participants will include volunteer teams from local businesses, corporations and federal agencies; non-profit agency staff, clients and volunteers; United Way supporters and caring individuals from Yellowstone County.

The Day of Caring starts off with a kick-off lunch at the Shrine Auditorium
(1125 Broadwater Ave., Billings, MT) from 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m. Volunteers work at various project locations from 1:00p.m -5p.m. and the day ends with a post celebration at Tiny's Tavern. A $10 non-refundable registration fee for each participant helps cover the cost of t-shirts, lunch, banners, posters, administrative costs and miscellaneous supplies.
