2023 Events

June 21 is United Way's Day of Action! Day of Action is the day across all United Way's to activate the caring power of volunteers in the community. 

UWYC will be hosting a large scale volunteer event at Dover Park. CLICK HERE for more information or contact Chrissy at volcoord@uwyellowstone.org or 406-272-8511.

  • Thursday June 22, 2023 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

  •  Poverty Simulations unite groups beyond stereotypes and create deeper empathy and understanding as well as motivation to take action. ​

  • Volunteers play a critical role in the simulation by running community agencies and resources such as a bank, school, employer, etc. that participants interact with. No experience necessary and training is provided. ​

  • Cabela's is hosting the activities
  • Volunteer needs: help serve lunch, help kids learn to fish
  • Drop off is August 31st
  • In partnership with Billings Education Foundation
  • Start collecting in July
  • Supports homeless and under resourced children in Billings & Laurel
  • Collection boxes and promotional items available
  • Lack of school supplies plays a vital role in a child's development socially, physically and mentally
  • When students do have their own school supplies, their grades and classroom behavior improve and they become more excited about school and learning
