Amity Burkhardt began her career at UWYC in September of 2015. She coordinates outreach to local schools to provide assistance with grade-level reading initiatives that include promoting school attendance; Support for the Best Beginnings Coalition leadership; Facilitator and Coordinator for Success Mentoring--volunteer mentors meeting with area elementary and middle school students to increase school success and engagement. Amity loves serving the community through the work of United Way of Yellowstone County and she's thankful for UWYC's amazing supporters and agency partners.

What is your go-to motivational/pump-up song?
What gives you hope?
Spending time with kids. I love hearing their perspectives and the funny things that make them laugh. It keeps everything in perspective and their enthusiasm for their future gives me hope.
What the world needs now is....
Good listeners. Each person has a story. A reason for how they think and what they see in the world. Listen to better understand them and find new friends
What is your favorite place on earth?
Any place in Montana with my husband.
What's the greatest gift we can give ourselves?
Having a wide variety of friendships to enrich your understanding and enjoyment of this world.
Who is one person that has changed your life?
Too many to name. I have been profoundly impacted and changed by mentors, family, teachers, professors during college and at Denver Seminary.
