"Mobilizing people and resources to deliver creative solutions to community problems." The United Way of Yellowstone County Volunteer Center is a member of the Points of Lightnstitute and HandsOn Network, the nation's largest organized delivery system for mobilizing volunteers to meet important needs in local communities. Connecting people with opportunities to serve

We provide access to information about a wide range of volunteer opportunities at over 75 nonprofit and government agencies serving Yellowstone County. We help link people who want to help-individuals, groups, families, students, businesses and their employees, civic community and faith-based organizations-with places where their time, talent and interests can be utilized effectively.

Building capacity for effective local volunteering

We help agencies, businesses and others who work with volunteers
build their skills in recruiting, managing, retaining and recognizing volunteers. We provide volunteer management training and consultation, share volunteer management resource information, and provide training and support for specialized groups of volunteers, such as board leaders.

Promoting volunteering

We raise awareness of the value of volunteering and inspire and mobilize people to volunteer to improve lives and create positive community change.

Participating in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet local needs

We serve as conveners for the community and catalysts for action.
We work with all sectors of the community to identify needs and mobilize volunteer response. Our Disaster Services focus on our responsibility in the Yellowstone County Emergency Operations Plan to manage spontaneous volunteers during disaster response and recovery.
