Supporting Kids and Families
Diapers are a necessity that keep children and parents healthy, allow kids to attend daycare, and parents to attend work. However, due to rising costs, many families in Yellowstone County are forced to forego this necessary resource to keep their children fed. That is why United Way of Yellowstone County and Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley collaborated to host a diaper drive. This fundraising effort is dedicated to collecting diapers, wipes, and cash to contribute to the Yellowstone Valley Diaper Bank, and our community came together to do just that.
We met our goal of 50,000 diapers, 55,000 wipes, and $1,956 dollars. This is all thanks to our wonderful community members and organizations.

More than Clean Butts
Because of these generous donations, the burden of affording diapers is eased, and struggling families in Yellowstone County can access these essential items. With access to diapers, babies can be changed more often to protect their health and hygiene, and children can attend daycare with their required diaper supply while parents attend work. These effects reduce health risks for children, resulting in fewer pediatric visits and reducing medical costs associated with the frequency of these visits. Additionally, with stable daycare comes a stable income, resulting in reduced absences and consistent earnings. These effects allow families to escape the cycle of poverty so they can build a better life for their children.
The drive-up diaper bank occurs on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley Day Center, located at 10 S 26th Street. Those who need diapers can receive assistance twice a month. Additionally, donations of diapers, wipes, and money are all accepted year round at the FPYV Day Center.
