It's a volunteer who reads to kids. It's a donor who organizes a workplace campaign. It's someone who advocates for housing policies that help people find stable homes. It's someone who cares about helping people in our community, and turns those feelings into action.
We were thrilled to recognize people, businesses, and nonprofits who embody those qualities at our Champions of Change Awards Luncheon.
Nonprofits do critical work in Yellowstone County, working to help people meet basic needs, improve their lives, and make our community a better place to live. At United Way of Yellowstone County, we're committed to helping fellow nonprofits strive to meet our missions.
United Way of Yellowstone County is excited to offer a new nonprofit leadership training course for local leaders in Yellowstone County! This six-part course will cover the ins and outs of steering a nonprofit, plus networking and coaching opportunities.

At United Way of Yellowstone County, supporting our nonprofit neighbors is a crucial part of our work. We're proud to join the Billings Chamber of Commerce and Billings Community Foundation in supporting local nonprofits. We provide resources and training, highlight the importance of their work in our community, and work together to ensure that we're meeting community needs.
As the letter below says:
Purchase a new book at This House of Books or Barnes and Noble in Billings, and we'll make sure it gets to an eager reader. We partner with local nonprofits to collect a wish list and distribute books to families in need. Just mention United Way of Yellowstone County's Holiday Book Drive while checking out, and our awesome partner stores will hold books until we collect them.
We have the most requests for infants, toddlers, and other pre-readers, so items like board books are always in high demand.
Community Investment Grants really are about investment. They're an investment in local nonprofits who do critical work in fields like education, homelessness, and mental health support. Maybe superheroes is laying it on a little thick, but we have high hopes for our new Community Housing Navigators. On July 8, United Way of Yellowstone County announced that it will fund four of these new jobs at three local nonprofits: one at Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley, one at Homefront, and two at HRDC7.
